With the UPSI series from Bicker Elektronik, Schukat now offers modular DC UPS systems for the uninterruptible power supply of 12V and 24V DC systems. The UPSI-1208, UPSI-2406, UPSI-2412, UPSI-1208D, UPSI-2406D and UPSI-2412D models provide effective protection against power failure, flicker, fluctuation and voltage drop in the DC power supply, avoiding costly plant shutdowns and downtime and ensuring the constant availability of process-relevant systems and components.
The series and the separate energy storage devices are available in both open frame and DIN rail versions. Users can choose between safe, long-lasting LiFePO4 batteries with 6,000 charge and discharge cycles for longer bridging times, and maintenance-free supercaps (ultracapacitors) with over 500,000 charge and discharge cycles for short and medium bridging times.
Intelligent charge and control units such as a bidirectional converter (buck-boost) ensure safe, efficient operation and offer a more flexible choice of battery technologies – three charging methods with individual adjustment of the final charging voltage (CC, CV, CP) are implemented. An intelligent power sharing function avoids the need for a disproportionately large upstream AC/DC power supply. In addition, the battery relax mode extends battery life, while the minimum load detection of the UPSI control unit monitors the output load to be supplied by the energy storage components. An integrated reboot function for PC-based systems along with USB and RS232 interfaces for data communication with controllers and PC-based systems are included.
