Schukat now supplies all of the cutting pliers in the Electronic Super Knips® range from German quality manufacturer KNIPEX direct from stock. The 125mm precision pliers in the Electronic Super Knips® series are suitable for the finest cutting work, e.g. in electronics and fine mechanics. The Electronic Super Knips® XL pliers, at 140mm long, are particularly useful for shortening cable ties. Both series are burnished and offer exceptionally sharp cutting edges without bevel. For long life and extremely precise cutting of even the thinnest wires, the manufacturer has chosen a micro cutting-edge offset of less than 0.2mm. The electronic pliers have a stainless-steel rivet joint, an opening spring, and an opening limiter. Their extremely easy opening action keeps operator fatigue to a minimum. Hardness of the cutting edge of most models is between approx. 54 and 64 HRC. The cutting edges are made of INOX stainless steel or special tool steel and are suitable for soft to medium wires. For hard wire, the 78 81 125 and 78 91 125 models are suitable, while the ESD variant 78 61 125 also cuts fibre optic cables (optical fibres). To prevent the uncontrolled jumping of cut wire sections, some models come with a wire clamp.
The series has been tested and certified according to the internationally recognised DIN ISO 9654 standard for cutting pliers in the electronics sector. Different coloured grips show at a glance the range of applications for the various pliers, including standard versions, models with VDE approval for working on electrical installations in accordance with EN 60900, and ESD tools (DIN EN 61 340-5), which use controlled electrostatic discharge to protect components at risk.
