Specialists with a Cool Head: Schukat and Sunon Celebrate 35-year Partnership in Fan Business

New General Manager of Sunon Europe focuses on ability to supply the European market

Schukat electronic and fan manufacturer Sunon are celebrating 35 years of partnership on the German market. Since 1983, the Sunon portfolio has grown from a handful of AC fans to the present 1500 different standard types. And since this year, the position of General Manager at Sunon has been newly occupied by Terence Chu.

Sunon has pursued its goal of developing and producing technologically innovative products since 1980. Back then, Schukat – well-known for its extensive market presence and competence – took over the task of building up the brand and the sales of the young company in Germany. Today, Schukat works hand in hand with the fan producer – which is now stock-market listed – with the goal of continued growth on the German market. "We plan to continue our focus on introducing new technologies and strengthening our position in existing and new markets," says Terence Chu, General Manager Sunon Europa. “Moreover, we want to provide our German customers with the best possible support in dealing with the current difficulties with obtaining components. In this regard, the ability to supply the European market is paramount.”

Sunon has already proven its expertise with technological miniaturisation, producing the Mighty Mini series, the smallest and thinnest fans in series production at just 9 x 9 x 3mm. Other product highlights are their protection-class IP68 fan series and their EC-fans designed to meet ATEX guidelines. In coming months, new EC fans and motors will also be entering the market. Schukat supports Sunon not only with its logistics expertise and close ties to customers in Germany, but also offers customers technical support and on-site personal contact. "With Terence Chu, we believe that we will see even more synergy effects and work even more closely with Sunon in Asia. With this direct connection, we are looking to responding even better to the needs of our customers in future," explains Bert Schukat. By far, the majority of Schukat's Sunon stock now comprises specially adapted or purely customer-specific developments.

Their next joint appearance will be at the electronica trade fair in Munich in November: Schukat will be the official exhibition presence of Sunon and will represent the producer at its stand.
