Recom’s new RAC20E-K/277 series of encapsulated 20W AC/DC modules for PCB mounting are among the newest additions to our product range. With a footprint measuring just 52.7 x 27.6mm, the new converters have the same dimensions as the existing K series 20W modules. A new pin assignment, however, makes it compatible with additional industry standards.
The RAC20E-K/277 converters demonstrate a high insulation voltage of 4kVAC, and the series can be operated at full load across a very wide input range of 85 to 305VAC. Output voltages of 5V, 12V and 24V are available, all with over 80% efficiency, while power consumption at zero load is less than 200mW, keeping the converters within the latest ECO guidelines.
Special features of Recom’s RAC20E-K/277 series include the OVC III classification at altitudes up to 2000m (OVC II up to 5000m) and a broad operating temperature range from -40°C to +90°C with power derating. The units are thus well suited to use in harsh environments, e.g. as auxiliary supplies in roadside EV chargers, as well as in industry, testing and measurement technology, and general domestic applications, including applications rated at 277VAC. Safety certifications include UL/IEC/EN 62368-1 and IEC/EN 61558-1/2-16, while the units are compliant with the EMC limits of EN 55032 Class B without additional external components.
As with all Recom AC/DC products, the RAC20E-K/277 series offers broad protection against output overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit. Using highly reliable components and advanced construction technology, the product has an MTBF of 830,000 hours at 25°C, in accordance with MIL-HDBK-217F (GB), and is backed by Recom’s standard 3-year warranty.
