Among the newest additions to our product range is the halogen-free EF350 BIO soldering flux from manufacturer Stannol.
EF350 BIO is a halogen-free, activated no-clean flux that guarantees outstanding wetting on different surfaces (e.g. OSP, Ni/Au, HAL, chem. Sn and chem. Ag) with both lead-free and lead-containing solder alloys.
The previous main component isopropanol (IPA) has been replaced by bioethanol. Bioethanol is derived from renewable raw materials, e.g. straw, and can be produced completely via a fermentation process without the use of fossil fuels, resulting in a significantly better CO2 balance. Compared to conventional fluxes, around 70% CO2 savings per litre can be achieved. Extensive tests have demonstrated that a 1:1 exchange is possible with no change in the process parameters, and using renewable raw materials achieves a better eco-balance while maintaining the same high quality.
EF350 BIO has an extremely wide process window and can be used universally. Because of its very good activity, it can be used for both wave soldering as well as selective soldering, and is suitable for use in both spray fluxers and foam fluxers. Suitable for your application, we ask you to the flux in the canister with 2.5 l (EF164300) or 25l (EF164301) volume.
