A new addition to the VDE-tested tools* are the cable knife KNIP9852 and the dismantling knife with slip guard KNIP9855 from Knipex. Both knives are characterised by their ergonomic grip form with a slip guard designed for comfort. While the slip-proof soft components provide superior safety, the thumb recess and 'finger hook' at the end of the grip ensure good force transmission when the blade is pulled. The cable knife KNIP9852 has a straight cutter made of special oil-hardened tool steel. The hooked blade of the dismantling knife KNIP9855, by contrast, is sickle shaped and made of stainless vacuum-hardened surgical steel. In addition, the dismantling knife features a guide shoe at the point that prevents damage to the conductor insulation. A transparent protective cap is included for safe storage.

*VDE-certified tools feature insulated sleeves for carrying out work on electrical installations. The VDE sleeves must not conduct any electric current – for example, if the head of the pliers' comes into contact with live components. The tools are subject to DIN EN / IEC 60900 and thus to strict safety standards for working around live parts. |
