We have now expanded our range of vibration transducers. Also known as exciters or bodyshakers, vibration transducers are essentially a speaker without a membrane. They consist mainly of three components: the oscillating mass, the contact pins, and the mounting plate. The Visaton models we have now added are ideally suited for reproduction of speech and music signals. Exciters find application in situations where, for design reasons or for protection against environmental influences or vandalism, no visible speaker can be installed. Thin wooden boards, plastic sheets, panels for suspended ceilings and high density foam plates are all good choices as sound radiating surfaces, but Plexiglas panels, glass plates/windows and thin sheet metal often also work well. The exciter can be attached to the surface of the plate to be excited by either gluing or screwing.
The new Visaton's exciter are available in diameters from 3 to 8cm, with maximum power from 10 to 50W and rated impedance 4 or 8 Ohm depending on the model. They can be used in a temperature range from -25 to +70°C, and are now in stock at Schukat.
