Since 1985, Schukat has been a successful distribution partner for TE Connectivity (known as Tyco Electronics until March 2011), supplying their safety relays, power PCB relays and industrial relays, PolySwitch resettable devices; Mini Universal Mate-N-Lock crimp connectors, PE series and Superseal connector systems; male and female PCB connectors (MicroMatch) and photovoltaic cable connectors (Solarlok Series) direct from stock.
TE Connectivity has been operating around the world for 75 years and has developed and manufactured more than 500,000 products. Boasting a history rich with tradition, TE Connectivity was formed on the basis of two important companies, both able to demonstrate an impressive technical heritage and competence.
AMP Incorporated was set up in 1941 and developed a process for solder-free connecting of terminals and wires that extended the life of electrical connections as well as improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process. For 75 years, AMP was a leader in the fast-growing connector market, producing terminals, connectors and related products. The company rapidly gained a foothold throughout the world.
Raychem Corporation, founded in 1957, was active in the then-new field of radiation chemistry (hence the name Raychem), which the company founders combined with specialist knowledge in the materials science area to develop such products as aircraft cables and heat-shrink tubing. Raychem later applied these core technologies for the manufacture of further products, including innovative circuit protection products like the well-known polyswitch, which automatically resets once a problem in a circuit has been rectified.
In 1999, Tyco International Ltd. acquired first AMP, then Raychem. From these two leading electronics industry companies, Tyco Electronics was formed. With further acquisitions in the following two years (e.g. Schrack AG), the company's product portfolio was expanded to include further electrical and electronic components and systems, finally encompassing more than twenty different product groups.
In 2011, Tyco changed its name to TE Connectivity.
The company is represented globally, with certifications to meet the ISO 9001 quality management system as well as ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, IRIS and KTA 1401.
