Sustainability in the Office, with ''Green Brands'' Products from Edding

Designed to with protecting the environment in mind, the EcoLine is edding's first sustainable highlighter and marker series. The cap and barrel of the highlighters are made with at least 90% renewable resources, while the plastic used in the permanent markers also consists of at least 90% recycled material.

At Schukat you can now get the new climate-neutral EcoLine permanent marker edding 21 with a round nip of 1.5 to 3mm and the EcoLine edding 25 with a 1 mm round nib, both in black, red, blue and green. The markers ensure durable marking on a variety of surfaces, including plastic, wood, metal, glass, leather and cardboard. They are quick-drying, low-odour and light-resistant, and are sustainable over their entire product life cycle. In the climate-neutral production process, 83% post-consumer plastics are used. During use, the markers can be refilled up to 15 times, and at the end of the products’ life they can be returned using the return box. A large proportion of the recycled material can then be reused in edding's ongoing EcoLine production.

The edding 24 EcoLine series highlighters have a 2 to 5 mm chisel nib and are available in fluorescent yellow, orange, pink, blue and green. They are ideal for highlighting notes or text sections in fluorescent colours on almost all paper surfaces. The markers' neon ink is water-based and odourless with very high colour brilliance. Like the permanent markers, the edding 24 highlighters are also refillable and can be reused multiple times, making them particularly economical.
All sales packaging for the EcoLine series is made of 100% cardboard.

The EcoLine series production and the recognition it has received

Since the beginning of 2020, the products in the EcoLine series have been available climate-neutrally. The energy-efficient production process is ISO 50001 certified. To realise edding's energy management system, investments were made in new machines with shorter heating times, with the aim of maximising reductions in CO₂ emissions. At the same time, edding's investments in a climate protection project compensate for its unavoidable CO₂ emissions.

Edding's EcoLine series has accordingly been recognised for the third time in a row as a ''green brand'' by the international brand marketing organisation Green Brands, and received its seal of approval with two stars. The stars stand for the number of successful re-validations. The award recognises the brands' commitment to climate protection, sustainability and ecological responsibility.
The EcoLine highlighters have also been awarded the ''Blue Angel'' eco-label because they are made mostly of renewable resources, such as sugar cane. The Blue Angel is the German government's eco-label for the protection of people and the environment, and guarantees that the product meets the high standards set for environmental, health and functional characteristics.
