Schukat is expanding its range of active surge protection devices (SPDs) from French producer CITEL Electronics. With their extra-slim construction and straightforward spring-clamp terminal connection, the CITEL SPDs are ideally suited to electrical installations in buildings and for use in industrial applications. They are available as type 2 (DAC40CS series) or type 3 (DAC15CS series) surge arresters, or in a type 2+3 combination arrester (DACN10 series) in an IP20 case. Depending on the version, they offer either 2-pole or 4-pole overvoltage protection for terminal equipment running on single-phase or multi-phase systems, and meet the requirements of IEC/EN 61643-11 and UL 1449 Ed. 4. With maximum discharge capacity of 40kA (DAC40CS), 15kA (DAC15CS) and 10kA (DACN10) per pole, they also demonstrate a very good ratio between surge discharge capacity and design and, depending on the model, reduce the overvoltage to a protection level of less than 0.9 to 1.3kV (L to N). The integrated status display allows the SPD’s functionality to be read at any time; if a fault occurs, the device disconnects from the AC supply. The DAC15CS, DAC40CS and DACN10 series surge protection devices from CITEL Electronics come with a five-year warranty and are now in stock at Schukat.
