Schukat electronic Vertriebs GmbH (Schukat) actively pursues the REACH requirements and has identified its tasks and obligations to the best of its knowledge and belief. We fully support the aim of the REACH regulation to improve the protection of human health and the environment.
According to its role under REACH, Schukat is primarily a distributor and importer of articles (electronic parts and components). It also distributes a small portfolio of chemicals (electronic sprays, adhesives, etc.). Our main task in relation to REACH is to pass on information along the supply chain between manufacturers, formulators and users to ensure that all these actors receive the relevant information they need to fulfil their respective REACH requirements and improve the safe use of chemicals in Europe.
Under chemicals legislation, electronic parts and components are considered as articles. Substances contained in articles only need to be registered if they are released under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions. Substances contained in electronic parts and components are generally not intended for release. Therefore, Schukat is not obliged to register substances in this case. As an importer of articles, we check whether our articles contain substances from the list of substances of very high concern (SVHC).
We only purchase chemicals from manufacturers who have already registered the relevant substances themselves. Schukat itself is therefore not subject to any registration obligation for the chemicals offered. For hazardous substances or mixtures, we provide a safety data sheet (MSDS) containing information required by national legislation, e.g. with regard to health and safety or the disposal of waste.
In the case of articles containing substances of very high concern, we communicate the name of the dangerous substance within the supply chain in accordance with Article 33 to ensure safe handling of the article. If one of our articles contains SVHC above the concentration limit of 0.1%, you will find this information on our order confirmation, invoice or delivery note. Furthermore, you will find a note in the corresponding product group under the heading REACH for these articles. As a registered user you will also find an overview list of affected articles in our customer portal.
Since we are exclusively act as a dealer or distributor, we have no direct knowledge of the composition of the components and chemicals supplied by us, nor do we have direct knowledge of the substances used in the manufacturing processes. Please note that all information about our articles related to REACH is based on the information provided by the manufacturer.
