With the new speakers in the LSF series, offering IPX7 protection, Schukat now offers waterproof speakers from manufacturer Ekulit.
The ingress protection code (IP) indicates the protection class of the products. The first digit refers to dust protection, while the second digit denotes protection against moisture and water. The value 'X' means that the dust aspect of protection has not been tested, so no statement can be made. The number ‘7’ means that the article is leakproof when immersed for a short period. The test involved immersing the speakers in one-metre-deep water for 30 minutes. All models successfully passed the test.
With their rectangular design and small size (starting at just 1.2 x 0.5cm), Ekulit’s IPX7 speakers are suitable for a variety of applications. Typical uses include as speaker units in telephone handsets and tablet computers. The operating temperature range of the series covers at least -30°C to +70°C. Please refer to the manufacturer's application notes for optimal audio results.
