With the 1551W series from Hammond Electronics, Schukat has now added watertight, IP68-rated, miniature enclosures to its range. These robust enclosures are ideally suited for mounting small printed circuit boards and, with their preformed silicone gasket, provide excellent protection against the ingress of dust and liquids. In case of fire, the polycarbonate enclosures have a UL94 V-0 flammability rating, demonstrating very high fire resistance. Available in black and gray with a satin finish, they are initially available in five sizes, from 60 x 35 x 22mm to 100 x 59 x 25mm.
PCB standoffs molded into the interior make installation easy. The small enclosures are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and come with either a plain or flanged lid. The flanged lid versions are easy to install on practically any surface and provide a degree of tamper protection by preventing access to the lid and base mounting screws. The polycarbonate enclosures are used in IoT and general electronics applications. All of the miniature enclosures in the 1551W series are now in stock at Schukat.
