For the protection of photovoltaic systems, Schukat has added Eska’s 1038.800 series of superfast fuse links (gR) to its product range. Compliant with the IEC 60269-4 standard, the fuses ensure reliable interrupt even at high voltages in photovoltaic systems where voltage boosting is used to minimize power dissipation in long circuit paths. Standard fuses, conversely, are not designed to fully protect such equipment. The Eska's 1038.800 series fuses come in a 10.3 x 38mm housing and are available from Schukat with eight different rated currents, from 2 to 20A. At rated voltage of 1000VDC, they have a high breaking capacity of 30kA. Operating temperature range is from -40 to +90°C. The fuse links are RoHS-compliant and are also used in many applications besides photovoltaic modules, including in multimeters and as short-circuit protection.
