Essentra's cost-effective ferrites for suppression of conducted interference in round cables are available as snap-on ferrite for easy retrofitting or as a closed ferrite ring. They are made of the ferrite materials K5B or A5.
Essentra's folding ferrites are suitable for cable diameters from 3.5 to 13mm. Hinged ferrites consist of two hollow core halves that can be conveniently fixed to a conductor without having to separate it from its connections. They are housed in a simple plastic casing and the snap-in closure makes joining the core halves child's play. The cores are therefore easy to install and are suitable for equipment where retrofitting and testing are necessary.
The closed ferrite rings are suitable for round cables from 5 to 15mm and are used as interference suppression cores for round cables. They are installed around the cable and attenuate any form of EMC emission. Ferrite rings are toroidal cores that enclose a conductor passing through their cavity to achieve interference suppression. Their applications depend on the specific inductance. Ferrites are characterised by a high magnetic conductivity, but have an electrically insulating effect. This makes them ideal for attenuating unwanted electromagnetic waves.
