For medical, auto, consumer and security electronics applications, Schukat has now introduced Ekulit’s MS series of MEMS microphones to its product range. The microphones owe their small package volume, just 2.75 x 1.85mm (MS2718Z9BM3-38), and wide-ranging functionality to the MEMS (micro electromechanical systems) technology, for which they undergo a special manufacturing process. They are an ideal choice for use in instruments, modules, and integrated components. Their functionality is based on the principle of electret condenser microphones, which convert sound pressure into electrical signals. The Ekulit's MEMS microphones offer a high signal-noise ratio of 59 to 65dB, enabling clear sound capture from large distances with no appreciable impairment – an important characteristic for voice recognition. They feature low power consumption of 0.15mA and a storage temperature range from -40 to +100°C, and are designed for SMD assembly using reflow soldering.
The economical MEMS microphones from Ekulit are now in stock at Schukat.
