Schukat has recently expanded its range to include the 315W high performance power supplies in the XLG-320 series from MEAN WELL, specially made for outdoor LED lighting. These AC/DC LED drivers are designed to be economical and compact. They are based on models with 12V and 24V constant voltage output and models with constant power mode (L/M/H versions), resulting in high reliability and a wide range of application potential. The XLG drivers can adjust the output voltage range according to the set current, so full-load operation is possible over a wide current range. This also means that it is no longer necessary to provide different constant current drivers – and by avoiding redundant power reserves, unnecessary costs can be avoided.
The XLG-320 series (315W) operates with an input voltage range from 120-305VAC and includes constant power mode types with a range of adjustable currents between 1050mA and 7420mA. In addition, a 24V constant voltage version is available – this can also be limited to 12V at 216W with the integrated potentiometer. Series efficiency is up to 94.5%, and in combination with the fanless design the power supplies can be operated at a case temperature of -40°C to +85°C with free air convection. With the expansion to the 315W variants, the XLG series now covers a range of powers from 20W (XLG-20) to 315W. Still within the first quarter of 2023, MEAN WELL will expand the successful series in the 50W to 315W power range with new variants that feature a DALI-2 interface. In addition to the analogue interface in use so far, the DALI-2 option offers even better dimming solutions and easier integration of the devices into lighting control systems.
All models in the XLG series come in an IP67 waterproof metal case, and in the XLG_AB variant they integrate a 3-in-1 dimming function with isolation design. They primarily target outdoor LED lighting of all kinds, including street lighting, horticultural lighting, floodlights, waterproof strip lighting, and illuminated advertising boxes.
Overvoltage resistance is up to 6kV. The units have protections against short-circuit, overcurrent/overvoltage and overheating and are compliant with EN61547 and 61000-4-5. Service life is rated at up to 100,000 hours, and they are guaranteed for five years. All models in the XLG series are now in stock at Schukat, with the DALI-2 versions available to order soon.
