Among Schukat’s newest additions is MEAN WELL’s BIC-2200 series. This is the first bidirectional power supply with an energy recycle function and it aims, among other things, to replace the two unidirectional power supplies commonly used in battery production with a single BIC-2200. The power supplies are fully digital 2.2 kW units with energy recycling in a low-profile 1U design, and are designed to control power transfer from the AC grid to DC and DC to the AC grid. Integrated functions include an active parallel connection, remote ON/OFF control, and an optional CAN bus protocol. The series offers design flexibility for battery formatting and testing systems, V2G (vehicle-to-grid) systems, charging stations, laser systems, and kinetic recovery systems.
The power supplies in MEAN WELL’s BIC-2200 series feature a fully digital design delivering 93% efficiency for both AC/DC and DC/AC conversion, with a low THD of <3% in both conversion modes. They offer ultra-fast switching time of 1ms between AC/DC and DC/AC, active parallel function up to 11,000W (4+1), and charge/discharge mode. Protection functions include anti-islanding, short circuit protection, AC failure, overvoltage, overload, and overtemperature. The power supplies are CB/TÜV/UL 62368-1 certified and come with a 5 year manufacturer’s guarantee. MEAN WELL’s BIC-2200 series is now in stock at Schukat.
