Reliable, Low-noise Sunon HA and MF Series Fans for Use in Medical Equipment

With Sunon's MF and HA fan series, Schukat electronic now supplies innovative, high-quality fans that provide professional cooling solutions for manufacturers of medical devices. These versatile fans find application in medical ventilators, COVID-19 testing equipment, incubators, medical diagnostic equipment such as ultrasound and MRI equipment, and patient monitoring systems, as well as in smaller medical devices for home use, such as inhalers and oxygen equipment.
The DC axial device fans in Sunon's MF series, also available in PWM-capable models, are an ideal choice for installation in diagnostic equipment and for laboratory use. The fans offer exceptional reliability and support effective heat dissipation, and are driven by an electronically commutated DC motor. The fans work reliably with long-life ball bearings, and for smaller designs Sunon uses its patented Vapo bearings and magnetic levitation system (MagLev). This ensures vibration-free and low-noise synchronisation of the impeller, resulting in particularly quiet, powerful fans. The 40x40x20mm version of these fans is used, for example, by medical technology manufacturer Medtronic.

For noise-sensitive applications in the direct patient environment, Sunon's HA series represents an excellent solution. The HA series has been designed from the ground to keep noise development below 20phon – for the human ear, this is below the perceptible range from a single noise source. The impeller and housing have been specially developed to generate the lowest possible aerodynamic noise, and the fans also employ the low-noise, maintenance-free magnetic Vapo bearings. These design factors mean that the fans cannot be identified as a single source of noise in a normal environment, such as a patient room or laboratory. The HA series is available with air-flow rates between 5.9 and 93.4m³/h and in housings from 30x30mm to 120x120mm. A round enclosure is also optionally available.
