EATON's KR series supercapacitors, a new extension of the Schukat range, are high reliability energy storage components. They feature low ESR, minimal leakage current, high power density, and a very high capacitance of 0.1 to 1.5 F, utilizing electrochemical double-layer capacitor design and EATON’s specially developed materials and processes. They are suitable for use in such applications as computers and peripherals, network switches and routers, electricity meters, HVAC controls, household appliances and real-time clock fuses, where they can be used as the sole energy storage device or in combination with batteries to optimise costs, service life and run time. The series has a rated voltage of max. 5.5VDC and a surge voltage of 6.3VDC and is made from environmentally friendly materials. The maintenance-free supercapacitors have an operating temperature range of from -25 to +70°C and a design lifetime of up to 20 years. Depending on the series (KR or KW), types vary from horizontal to cylindrical.
The supercapacitors in the KW series also feature a broad operating temperature range from -40 to +85°C. Application areas include electrical utility meters, motor control units, solar inverters and real-time clock fuses as well as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and water control systems.
EATON's KW and KR series supercapacitors are now in stock at Schukat.
