Among the newest additions to the Schukat range are the low-profile MSS metal switches and pushbuttons from Schurter. The series consists of nine switches and nine pushbuttons, each available in diameters of 19mm, 22mm and 30mm. These are active electronic switches (LA=latching) and pushbuttons (MO=momentary), with a low installation depth of just 8mm and a stainless steel actuating field.
The MSS series is supplied as standard in the NO (normally open) version – the contact is closed when actuated – but is also available on request in an NC (normally closed) version, where actuation opens the contact. The MSS responds precisely to light pressure on the surface. Another special feature is the fresh design: as well as being available in unilluminated versions in red, green, blue, black, yellow, white and orange housing colours, versions with multi-colour illumination (5–28VDC) are also available for all three sizes. The non-illuminated versions enable a clear assignment of function by colour.
The Schurter MSS metal-line pushbuttons and switches offer maximum reliability. With no moving parts, they are absolutely wear-free and offer a service life exceeding 20 million switching cycles. Other technical features include a maximum switching voltage of 60VDC and maximum rated current of 100mA. With their sealed design, they achieve protection class IP66/67 and a shock resistance rating of IK06. Designed for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, they are predestined for use in harsh, demanding environments. Applications include medical technology, laboratory and industrial equipment, and door bells.
