For industrial, high-voltage DC applications – e.g. for electrolysis, energy-storage charging, UV and laser applications – we have now introduced the 1500W high-voltage switching power supplies in MEAN WELL’s UHP-1500-HV series to our range. These DC power supplies can be integrated directly into the end products, improving their performance with high output voltage, and reducing power dissipation during energy conversion. With their fanless, conduction-cooled design, the UHP-1500-HV power supplies are particularly suitable for dusty operating environments, as well as for indoor and outdoor equipment. Output voltage (115V, 230V and 380V) and output current can be adjusted in three ways – via the built-in potentiometer, programmable (PV/PC) functions, or a digital communications interface (such as CANBus or PMBus) – and can also be combined with an HMI as system integration and control function.
The UHP-1500-HV series is EN/UL62368 compliant and meets overvoltage category III design requirements, and can therefore be used in distribution cabinets or stationary equipment. This reduces voltage conversion costs, while the heavier insulation offers better withstands higher pulse and voltage surges compared to overvoltage category II power supplies, minimizing the risk of electric shock. In addition, the devices provide a 12V auxiliary voltage, remote function and DC OK signal.
