Schukat has added the world’s first 200W AC/DC LED driver series to its range: MEAN WELL’s PWM-200KN series. The series offers even better performance and higher cyber security than its predecessor, and consists of a constant voltage driver with single-channel PWM output that can maintain colour temperature and brightness homogeneity in all types of LED strips. Safety approval complies with the EN61347 and UL8750 standards. The in-built KNX interface with Data Secure function makes a complicated KNX-DALI gateway unnecessary. KNX Data Secure uses the highest standard encryption, AES128 CCM, to sign and encrypt the communication telegrams on the KNX twisted pair bus cable in accordance with ISO 18033-3, effectively preventing attacks on the lighting infrastructure of buildings and providing the highest level of data protection.
The MEAN WELL LED drivers have an input range of 100 to 305VAC and are available with output voltage of 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V. Standby power consumption is less than 0.5W and the units demonstrate a long operating life exceeding 50,000 hours. With efficiency of up to 94% and fanless design, the series can be operated using free air convection at an enclosure temperature from 40 to 85°C. With an adjustable output frequency of up to 4kHz, the drivers are ideal for keeping interference from light flicker to a minimum in accordance with IEEE 1789-2015. In addition, the extremely low dimming value of only 0.01% makes it suitable for applications requiring low light levels, such as in cinemas.
