Espressif Systems: Uncomplicated, Secure Connection of Applications and Devices to the IoT

The WiFi/Bluetooth modules from Chinese manufacturer Espressif Systems, a recent addition to our range, will allow you, in future, to connect your applications and devices to the Internet of Things (IoT) simply and securely. The Espressif WiFi modules are based on the WiFi SoC IC series ESP8266 (ESP modules), ESP32 (ESP32 modules) or ESP32-S2 (ESP32-S2 modules), all developed by Espressif itself.
Alongside all of the RF components necessary for a WiFi or Bluetooth (ESP32 only) wireless connection, the modules provide a highly integrated 32Bit microprocessor with clock frequency up to 240MHz, SRAM and ROM memory, and a wide range of interfaces. The 802.11 b/g/n WiFi protocol for radio communication at 2.4GHz is supported by all modules, while the ESP32 modules also support Bluetooth/Bluetooth LE. With up to 20dBm output power (WiFi-typical) at the antenna and receiver sensitivity of up to -98dBm (WiFi-typical), wireless connection is guaranteed even over greater physical distances. Numerous interfaces, including GPIO, UART, I²C and I²S, allow for universal deployment of the WiFi modules.
Some of the modules come with an integrated PCB antenna; the others have a standard IPEX connector for an external IPEX antenna. The ultra-low-power design also makes the modules well suited to battery-powered applications.
For a straightforward introduction to IoT applications using the Espressif modules, we also offer matching development boards.
Developers can also find comprehensive development support on the manufacturer's website.
