This compact power supply represents a cost-effective choice for virtually any application and is an ideal choice for small portable devices in need of AC power in disparate environments almost anywhere the world. It also has many other applications, for example as a low-cost auxiliary supply in larger power conversion systems or to supply power to IoT nodes. In the medical field, it stands out with maximum leakage current of 0.1mA, making it suitable for patient contact applications.
The RACM06E-K/277 processes rated input voltages from 80-305VAC (120-430VDC) and is suitable for use worldwide with rated voltages from 100-277VAC, while customers can choose output voltage of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V or 24V. The thermally optimised design enables operation across a broad temperature range from -40°C to +90°. Operation at full load is possible up to +60°C, and the units offer protection against overtemperature, short circuit, and overvoltage. The tough plastic housing offers protection and isolation in a compact (25.6 x 25.6 x 16.6mm), light (20g) build. An MTBF of almost 2 million hours at 25°C and a design lifetime of 43,000 hours ensure long, trouble-free operation.
The RACM06E-K/277 module meets the requirements of numerous certifications, including IEC/EN 62368-1 for IT/multimedia, IEC/EN 60335 for household applications, and IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI 60601-1 for medical engineering. They offer 2MOPP insulation, while leakage current for “body floating” (BF) applications with direct patient contact is less than 0.1mA. EMC class B compliance is fulfilled by a substantial margin with potential-free output. By limiting the no-load power consumption to a maximum of 120mW, the unit also fulfils the ecodesign requirements. The RACM06E-K/277 series is designed for efficient operation in overvoltage category II (OVC II) environments at altitudes up to 5000m in accordance with IEC/EN 62368-1, and up to 3000m for OVC III in accordance with IEC 61558-2-16.
